We received the first review of our novel, By All Means Must We Fly, yesterday (check out the review and book here). It’s an incredible feeling to have someone take the time—not only to read our work—but to let us know their thoughts and feelings on it. Writing is such a lonely endeavor (we’re lucky to work together—although sometimes we want to punch each other in the face) and it’s amazing to know that people out there are finally reading what we’ve put out into the world.
We want to thank the reviewer, not only for reading the book, but for taking the time to review it. We are so grateful to everyone who downloads our work, and we welcome and encourage everyone who does so to leave a review, either negative or positive. Both of us firmly believe that writing is a life-long process, and we are always looking for ways to improve.
At the same time, we know that not everyone might be comfortable leaving a review online, and that’s okay, too. If you’d like, you can always send us your thoughts at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’d love to hear what you have to say.
This is just one of the many “firsts” we’ve experienced in self-publishing; first work published, first work downloaded, first work purchased—but this one feels special. We put something out there, and someone responded to it—that’s all we ever wanted.
That’s why we write.
